I was elected to Hutt Mana Charitable Trust in 2022 and have been impressed. The Trust Board works well, Kendons Chartered Accountants administer the Trust's affairs efficiently and Forsyth Barr deliver good investment returns.

We have reduced operating costs and grown the investment portfolio over the last three years. This helps ensure long-term sustainability of the Trust's community grants.

My recommendation to stop trustee fees did not get support. I've donated my fees to Hutt charities.

I'm chairman of the Hutt Hospital Foundation Trust.

The Trust was formed in 1993 in response to the potential closure of Hutt Hospital. It supported the hospital, raising funds for equipment, nurse development and patient comfort.

The Trust is now winding down due to the welcome regionalisation of hospital support services through the Wellington Hospitals Foundation. Its substantial fund-raising capabilities will greatly benefit the Hutt.
